The Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) in Spain has signed an agreement with IBM for Tradelens, a blockchain-powered digital shipping platform built by IBM and Maersk. APBA has stated that it will utilize the platform to exchange information and documentation between its supply chain partners in a more secure and efficient way.
Saudi Customs has aligned with Tabadul, a Riyadh-based IT firm, to track shipments on the blockchain. The new project is aimed at integrating Fasah, Saudi customs officials’ existing shipment tracking platform, with TradeLens, a blockchain-based shipment tracker solution developed by Maersk and IBM. The blockchain-based TradeLens platform is expected to improve efficiency and reduce overall costs.
Modern Terminals, a container terminal operator in Hong Kong, has adopted TradeLens, a blockchain-enabled technological solution, for documenting logistics data. The solution is developed by the duo, Maersk and IBM. As claimed, the solution will help in digitizing and streamlining the global supply chain process thereby improving the efficiency.
