Citing loss of liquidity, major Polish crypto exchange Bitmarket calls it quits. However, this closure took place suddenly without any prior notice. The official website of the exchange is only displaying a message citing liquidity loss. The message also says that it will soon announce further steps for its users.
A certain Reddit user by the name OdoBanks has something else to say. He cites that, a few weeks prior to the shutdown BitMarket forced the users to change their passwords. API key of the users was also changed. If this was not enough the transaction for some users was halted on the grounds of the requirement of additional KYC.
There is no mention of any hacking incident from the exchange. Also, Bitmarket has not provided any statement on their Twitter handle. Last month, another Polish crypto exchange Coinroom shut down its operation overnight as well. It had allegations of fund siphoning and unauthorized payment processing.
