Ethereum 2.0 will launch in early 2020. That will be the first stage of Ethereum’s network transition into the newer version. Ethereum researcher Justin Drake says that the developers are working on the code specifications for phase zero. He further confirms that the codes will release by June 30th. Phase zero will launch on the very date when the first block of the Bitcoin blockchain came into existence a decade ago.
Phase zero is the shift of the Ethereum network from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake consensus algorithm. It will transfer the block validation function from miners to the network validators.
As per Drake’s word, the deposit contract ceremony will take place at the Ethereum developers Devcon Conference in October. He believes the developers will address the issue of deposit contract in the event. there will also be discussions on dealing with scam deposit contracts.
