The Polish crypto exchange Coinroom has shut down its operations overnight. Adding to the woes, it has allegations of siphoning the funds of its customers as well. This report comes from a local news agency.
The exchange sent contract termination and business closing emails to its customers. They had only one day to retrieve their funds as per the official agreements. However, many customers are claiming that they have not received the full amount. Some are even saying they did not receive anything at all. Many of the customers had around $15,000 in their accounts when Coinroom shut down abruptly.
A customer says that he went to the Coinroom headquarters check about this incident. However, he was denied access and information. Though his contact details were noted, no one from the exchange never contacted him. Apparently, the exchange has also deleted its official Twitter page.
A spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw has assured criminal proceedings against the exchange. He says the now-defunct firm was involved in providing unauthorized payment services.
