Argentina-based NEM Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CISPREN, a local trade union of journalists in Cordoba, to develop a blockchain-based solution for copyright protection.
According to the Spanish Cointelegraph, the MoU includes the development of a Proof-of-Concept for the above project. The trade union is looking forward to using blockchain to protect intellectual property rights such as content ownership and payment of royalties.
German Guismondi, Press-Secretary of CISPREN, has said that using blockchain authors will have complete authority of their work. The timestamp created with each content upload to blockchain will have a unique QR code and a digital signature which will safeguard the ownership of the content.
