SP Jain School of Global Management, an Indian management institution, has announced that the issuance of 1,189 blockchain-based degree certificates.
According to the school, the blockchain based certificates will help in verifying the genuineness of the certificates. Furthermore, employers will be able to verify the authenticity of the certificate without the need of any major technical skills. This will prevent the flow of fake degrees in the country.
While the institution has stressed upon availing the authenticity of the certificates, other private data have been kept excluded from public view. Hence, the institution will have the complete power to track the portfolio, projects, and attendance of students.
Nitish Jain, the president of SP Jain School of Global Management, has commented that globally many such attempts have been made to issue certificates on the blockchain. But, none has yet captured the complete lifecycle of the certification on the blockchain. He also ensured the security of the students’ private data stored in the school’s private blockchain.
